Middlebury College, located in beautiful Middlebury, Vermont, stands as one of the most prestigious liberal arts institutions for higher learning in United States. Founded over two hundred years ago, it is an institution devoted to scholarship of the highest degree.
Unfortunately, it is also a bastion of hard leftism. In this great country of ours, the state of Vermont stands as a miniature socialist republic, twisting and distorting the United States Constitution to fit its own liberal agenda. It serves as a haven for intellectuals who believe that the best way to ensure the growth of business is taxation; that the men who earn should be willing to give their livelihood to the men who don't; that merit and reward are unrelated; that money is the greatest of man's evils.
Built on a foundation of shocking ignorance, this tiny pocket of extremism continues to exert a disproportionate influence on world affairs, while at the same time indoctrinating far too many intelligent young people in the ways of socialism and moral relativism.
We conservatives are but a few scattered red fish swimming in a great blue sea, but we are here, and we're not leaving - well, at least not until we've graduated and can find a place in the real world. Until that day, however, this blog will be my soapbox. Welcome to MiddleburyRepublican.com.
