There are days when the DC experience threatens to overwhelm me, and today was one of those days. Simply put, I never imagined that I'd have the opportunity to do the things I'm doing here, and there are still moments when I'm in shock that I'm actually on Capitol Hill.
I had the pleasure of attending a meeting in the House office build, where I met for the first time Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin's first district. Congressman Ryan is the man behind
A Roadmap for America's Future, a set of sweeping policy reforms designed to break the government away from its current growth trends and restore a measure of fiscal responsibility to the public sector. It's a fine plan, and I'm anxious to see how it develops in the future. I give credit to the Congressman for proposing legitimately dynamic policies during a time when many on Capitol Hill seem content to sit back and watch events unfold. Thumbs up!
That was the big event of the first half of the day. The big event of the second half can be found
here. Check the author. That's the first. Never would have guessed I'd get the chance to do that.
I'm going to sign off early today. A longer post tomorrow, I promise.
