I began keeping journals of my hunting, fishing, and other outdoor experiences in 1991. The journals are intended to capture the moments of learning, elation, frustration, friendship, and the connection with nature that come with spending time in the field. I find great joy in reviewing the journals on occasion and have pulled a few excerpts that are meaningful to me. In preparing the journal entries for online publishing I have corrected spelling errors and the occasional grammatical snafu but have not changed the spirit or casual commentary of the personal original writings.
