Tips to manipulate, filter, and mangle II

I had two suggestions this week on how to "manipulate, filter, and mangle" guitar tones:
  • Paul Potts - "I have a green device called a 'Gonkulator' (really). It's a ring modulator pedal that generates its own carrier. The knobs are labeled things like 'grunge' and 'heave.' It sounds pretty horrifying. I haven't found a really good use. Keeping it for the day that I really need a solo to sound like a sick goat having a seizure or something."
  • Raul Bonell - "I'll add ... plogue bidule & max/msp. The routing capabilites and data conversion can't be beaten."
Paul is going to send along some Gonkulator sound clips, I'll post them upon arrival. Thanks for the tips gentlemen!

If you would like to share your tips on manipulating, filtering, and mangling guitar tones, post a comment on this blog, send me an email, or drop me a note on any of my social network outposts.
