I had two suggestions this week on how to "manipulate, filter, and mangle" guitar tones:
- Paul Potts - "I have a green device called a 'Gonkulator' (really). It's a ring modulator pedal that generates its own carrier. The knobs are labeled things like 'grunge' and 'heave.' It sounds pretty horrifying. I haven't found a really good use. Keeping it for the day that I really need a solo to sound like a sick goat having a seizure or something."
- Raul Bonell - "I'll add ... plogue bidule & max/msp. The routing capabilites and data conversion can't be beaten."
Paul is going to send along some Gonkulator sound clips, I'll post them upon arrival. Thanks for the tips gentlemen!
