After scouring the thread at Steel Guitar Forum this morning, I pulled the trigger on an inexpensive import Weissenborn copy guitar. For those not familiar, Weissenborn's are acoustic lap steel guitars with a hollow neck built in the 1920s. The tone of a Weissenborn is magnificent. The SGF members who have purchased these copies are quite pleased with the tone, construction, and playability of the instruments. I'm excited to get mine, in just a few days!

David Lindley performs with Weissenborns, amongst other things. I had the pleasure of seeing Dave in Burlington, VT in October and he was jaw dropping, as always.
