This computer is clean

I just completed the clean up on the G4 in preparation for tomorrow's arrival of the MacBook Pro. All studio software, plug-ins, preferences files, etc. are removed. I'll do a clean install of Pro Tools and other studio software after the new machine is up and running. I've jettisoned several components of my old studio config; with the continued development of Pro Tools some of the add-ons I've accumulated over the are no longer necessary to what I do. I'm fired up to get the studio running on the new machine!

I spent two hours or so yesterday working on the Box Guitar and I'm stoked about what it can do. The obvious thing is comping with one hand while playing leads or melodies with the other, and that's perfectly valid, but the magic is in creating chord structure and/or patterns that are impossible with a normal guitar. I expect to use the instrument quite a bit on the new project.

Hollis and I are going to see Chicago this evening in Brewtown. I know we'll have to sit through some sappy Cetera tunes, but I can't wait to hear those classic CTA songs. Should be fun.

Now playing: Marillion, Happiness Is The Road
