Dateline: Burlington. Miss Hollis and I are taking a few days off in Burlington, Stowe, Montreal, and Lake Placid. We enjoyed time today in Burlington, Montpelier, and Waterbury, with a focus on locally brewed beers.
Stefan and I saw
The Flower Kings on Friday evening in Brewtown. The band was solid and did a great job with
The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. Much fun.

I joined Hollis in Burlington Sunday evening. We met
Mike Gaito and his lovely wife Tracy, their 8/9ths of a Gaitlette, to be fully realized in another month, Joe and Dr. Riffanucci, and Pete, friend of Mike and Joe. We had dinner at our favorite, Vermont Pub and Brewery. It was good to catch up with our Vermontian friends and compare notes on the music business.
Speaking of the music business, we continue to ship orders while on vacation. I brought a few CDs and the packaging materials with me to VT to keep that product flowing. I'll be making a postal run in the morning before we head off to Stowe for the day. There's much work left to be done with
One Feather Shy. Our focus is on the marketing front when we return home and we're continuing to work on those plans.
Speaking of plans, during my flights from Chicago to NY and NY to Burlington I auditioned dozens of my demo tracks that I'm carrying around on my iPod to see what may be appropriate for my next project. The first cut was simply to filter things that I find interesting. I haven't listened to many of these tracks for at least 16 months, since the recording for
One Feather Shy began. Much of what I played I really liked! I left the listening sessions with 41 tracks in play. I expect a good portion of the next release to be written in the coming months, but will select a few pieces from the backlog, as well.
Now playing: Pink Floyd, Soundtrack from the Film More
