Today was a glorious day in the annals of
Clayphonic Records;
One Feather Shy is released and the preorders have been shipped!
The shipping experience was fascinating. The postal worker was a carbon copy of Nurse Ratched. I pulled into the post office as the doors were being unlocked, the only customer in the facility. I carted in my box full of preorders, neatly packaged and ready to leave the nest. At minimum I was smiling, perhaps evening whistling, as I approached the counter. Nurse Ratched stated through her head-to-toe scowl, "You'll have to put stamps on those boxes." I agreed, knowing that resistance was futile, but feebly inquired, "Why can't we meter the packages?" "Standard operating procedure," Nurse Ratched replied, "more than ten packages
you have to apply postage." Forty minutes later I had placed stamps on all of the domestic packages and filled out the custom forms for the overseas shipments. I smiled and found joy in the simplest of tasks, knowing my work was beginning its journey to the four corners of the world.
It was 513 days from conception to release. In this month's newsletter I broke that number down into it's phases. What, you don't get the newsletter? Well, go to the
contact page and sign up!
There's still much work to do on the marketing front, but I'm taking the rest of the evening off!
Now playing: Nigel Gavin, Music for Flem, Vol. II
