Pineapple studio 5:08 pm
A “semi-day off” including a later than usual rise, the streets were specially quiet this morning, making it a great pretext to stay in bed just a little more…
Prepared breakfast and did a couple of house chores. Good conversation with E, just had a very good time gentling at home.
Last night’s storm made the humidity level rise considerably today, I opened the door to the balcony during the rest of the morning and into the early afternoon.
Made it to the studio just before 2 pm. We just came back from a walk around town, we had an excellent conversation over a scoop of ice cream.
Now working on image editing.

Guitar practice from 7:15 to 10 pm. I have a headache, I’m going home.

This summer promises to be really busy with work activities, already several “respectable size” projects are in the oven, organizational challenges ahead, to say the least. The Circle Retreat is approaching rapidly, I am very much looking forward to this course since we are attending as a working Guitar Circle, my sense is that there is very good potential for developing our work.

Pineapple Studio 10:20 am
Activity at home since early this morning and upon arriving here I found a gift on the mailbox, a gift that came all the way from Springfield, Ohio. Yes!! It’s music.
10:30 am Now on my way to visit a new client.
Back at the studio at 3 pm, computerizing and preparing my photo gear for a session this evening.

Pineapple studio 8:37 pm
Quite a few phone calls took most of the morning, then to lunch with E to a newly discovered middle eastern restaurant in neighboring Oak Park, a falafel sandwich with Lebanese salad, good stuff.
Back to the studio to keep organizing the space and creating dvd backups of a batch of very large video files. More phone calls and organizing. Classes began at 6pm. Shortly after 7 I was visited by Norma, one of E’s student’s who is interested in commissioning some design work.
Classes are still going here, I’m going home.

Pineapple Studio 4:28 pm
Yesterday I moved the temporary studio/office from our apartment to this location, about 70% of the stuff is here now with only what remains in the storage space missing. This morning has been somewhat productive, I set up the wireless network following last night’s visit to the apple store. Got two new jobs and processed files for output.
A new beginning in a way, having a new workspace provides opportunities and a new set of challenges.

1:45 pm Home office
My brother G’s birthday. Feliz Cumpleaños Gabo.
This morning was a late rise, shower and straight into a local pancake house per E’s request. Rest of the morning continuing design work on several jobs.
Finally I got internet access installed at the studio yesterday morning with the usual “we’ll be there between 8 and 12” deal, it took five minutes to get it done and the tech got there until 1:30. I brought E’s laptop and my guitar to work and practice while I waited.
Now the task will be to move my stuff from this office to the studio along with the rest of the stuff that remains in storage at the previous location.

Home office 12:15 pm
From yesterday…
The rest of the morning into the afternoon was spent practicing a couple of “jam” tunes, so the likeliness of embarrassing myself on a jam session, like last night!, is less of a threat. I will have to go back and totally nail it, just for myself!! The funny thing is thing is that I had played these songs before, and Saturday it was so close and yet very far away.
Design work for a brand identity job, a few house chores and next thing is almost 5 pm. We went out for what was suppose to be dinner and a movie, it turned out to be just dinner, good Mediterranean food though. I could have falafel everyday!!
Back home around 9pm I revisited the morning’s practice with the guitar plugged into the guitar rig software, the settings need some tweaking and I need a new set of computer speakers/monitors but a decent tone can be produced. To bed around midnight.
This morning I have a headache, I think I had an extra glass of sangria last night.

Design work for several projects for the work day, several phone calls made to clients and to a service provider, then a short meeting with client at the bar across the street around 7pm. Take-out for dinner.
Practice consisted in calisthenics and repertoire, continuing work on Askesis. Then revisited the “jam” tunes from last night.
Now to bed, tomorrow promises to be a busy workday.

7:06 pm Home office
A full day of work, design work in the morning and then a “quick” run to the republic of Joliet to visit a client, this trip was made easier by blasting Crimson live in Asbury Park in June 1974.
Back home around 2:30 in the afternoon. Later, another business meeting rendered a couple of new jobs and a photo shoot was scheduled for next Wednesday.
8:15 pm Practice.
Break at 9:30 to have a late supper with E. Later back to the guitar for free playing, hey it’s Friday, why not?

Today began with rising at 8:15. The best part of the morning was spent dealing with internet service provider and making several work related phone calls and emails. Conversation with E during lunch about finances.

What a beautiful night!! Crisp and cold with a gorgeous full moon, I caught a full view of it around 6 pm against a cloudless deep blue sky.

Got a call from Mr. Tobias of Tobias Music, new sets of strings are on the way!!
8:30 Practice.
10:40 E got home. Practicing done. Tonight was work on Askesis counting out loud, quite challenging. D harmonic minor exercise for calisthenics and more repertoire work.
