While it didn't seem so at the time, this has been one of the more productive days of late. Sitting, Akuri for breakfast, both computers updated. Some studio time later, with something resembling practice and a bit of audio editing - got the old demo of Ancient Light whittled down to the 5MB limit and posted on MySpace. The daily store run was done on foot.

A bit of laziness later, with leftovers for dinner, and the nigh-customary evening of couch time. Even so, alot done. Let's hope the trend continues.

Monday - back to it. More or less. Out relatively early for errands, including paying the rent and picking up groceries. Made the mistake of turning on the radio during this time, catching Obama's speech with his cabinet picks - Clinton, former Clinton people, and Bush's Defense Secretary keeps his job. Yeah ... change ...

Received some pictures in the mail from Fr. Columba, GC- and AT-buddy, newly ordained as a deacon in the Russian Orthodox Church. He's come a long way from Blue Goo.

Nachos for dinner, and a quiet evening follows.

Sunday, 11.30.08 (252)

20:40 (lh)
39°F, rain

Despite its name, the day was completely without sun. Gray and raining, an ideal day to spend on the couch watching football. The continued headache did little to discourage this. Ann, at least, had a productive day in the kitchen.

The usual laid back weekend. Most activity slowed by a stiff neck. A decent breakfast managed, and out later for a few errands. A late nap, then a viewing of Mirrormask. Very cool, very bizarre.

No website, day eight. Currently, the entire server is down, rather than just popping up the Server Maintenance page come up, so I'm hoping this is a sign of progress. To recap:

Yesterday - out the door slightly late, due to our destinating address not being in the GPS; ended up running back inside to print out the map. Beyond this, an uneventful trip to northern North Carolina. Upon arrival, we discovered that they lived in a brand new development, which explained the road not being on the map. We quickly settled in, after meeting his wife and daughter, catching up on the last decade. A fabbo meal later, and conversation well into the evening. We ended up staying the night, so no post.

Today - up at the usual time, which offered some small disturbance to the household pets. An equally enjoyable breakfast, some continued lounging, followed by a brief drive around town, getting the fifty-cent tour, including the college where Sister-in-law teaches. After a stop back at Chéz Sibling, we were off again to a nearby BBQ eatery for a late lunch, after which we said our farewells and headed toward our respective homes. An equally uneventful return trip, except for a gas stop at a staggering $1.63. Home now, unwinding, and ready for the weekend.

No website, day six. Whatever. Breakfast featured the best batch of biscuits to date. Wish I knew what I did differently.

We've all heard about "Black Friday," coming up this week, when merchants nationwide brace to be overrun by rabid, savage consumers hell-bent on consuming themselves even farther into debt because the commercials told them to. Today, they were out warming up at the grocery stores. Stocking up for today and tomorrow, even the few items we needed to take, was a nightmare. Hopefully Friday will be better, when they're all at the mall.

Afternoon and evening were spent in the kitchen, needless to say. Pulled off a delightful herb-crusted beef tenderloin for dinner; took a break long enough to eat it, before returning to action. Tag teaming with Ann, who made dinner rolls for tomorrow's feast, while I produced two loaves of cranberry-pumpkin bread and a double batch of rompopo. Out the door early tomorrow.

36°F (32°F), partly cloudy

No website, day five. Apparently the new servers are up and running, but not quite correctly - DNS issues or something. All I know is that I cannot log in, and still get the maintenance page. Double-plus ungood.

A bit more activity today - bills paid, and laundry done. Once more, this involved washing at home and drying at the laundromat. Also, sliding down to the nearby watering hole of choice for a pint during the drying. Someday our dryer will get fixed. On the upside, a random conversation with a fellow launderer may lead to another guitar student. We'll see. If that's what work is to be, I'll take it.

Mexican baked tilapia for dinner, with quinoa pilaf. Surprisingly few dishes, for something so elaborate sounding. Vegetation followed, as always.

Monday, 11.24.08 (246)

21:51 (rh)
39°F (31°F), rain shower

Server offline, day four. This is becoming annoying.

Clearly, getting into a rut here. Today's excitement was closing most of the storm windows. Chickpeas and chorizo for dinner.

Sunday, 11.23.08 (245)

20:05 (rf)
28°F (21°F), fair

Server offline, day three. Not far behind myself. Ann worked today, covering to make for a four-day weekend. Initial contact indicated the possibility that we may head down to my brother's for Thanksgiving.

Dinner proved to be the day's only significant activity; chicken fricassee.

Saturday, 11.22.08 (244)

21:57 (rh)
28°F, partly cloudy

Largely a Day Off, though it seems awhile since there was much of a Day On. AisA remains down for server maintenance; their scheduled few hours has become a few days. Oh well - shoganai.

Out for breakfast; not bad, but a trifle disappointing - I cobbled one together from the brief description on the menu a few weeks ago which was much better. Grocering followed, restocking for the next couple of days. No immediate plans for the holiday, so that particular meal remains undecided.

Leftovers once more for dinner, this time from the freezer - a chicken dish was combined with the last of the pizza dough to make a pair of pot pie-like calzones. Decent. Rising to the challenge of recycling and thriftiness, though I suspect this was a bit offset by another batch of rompopo - Ann doesn't normally like eggnog, but is going through this quite readily. As am I, admittedly.
